This position researches, writes and reports compelling journalism
that reaches and expands audiences by informing and engaging
readers on the topics of health care in a role that crosses into
and over several tradition newsroom beats to tell the stories of
people and the impact of our city's and community's impact on
them.
The reporter acts as a public ambassador through community outreach
and connects with readers in person and through social media.
He/she provides thoughtful analysis of complex issues including,
but not limited to public health trends, healthy/unhealthy habits,
mental health, environmental concerns, hospital/patient/nursing
home safety and quality of life access disparities. He/she produces
watchdog journalism that leads to change.
The reporter works with the content coach and content strategists
to shape storytelling to meet audience needs and interests.
