POSITION TITLE: Cyberspace Response Assessment Instructor / Writer Full time (40 hours a week) LOCATION: Fort Gordon (Augusta), GA Position Description : The Army recently established the Cyber School under the CCoE to train the new Cyber Branch/Career Field 17, which includes courses for MOS 17A, 170A, and 17C. Army Cyber School training includes Career Field 17's (Cyber Operations) Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC), Captain's Career Course (CCC), Operations Officer Course (OOC), Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Advanced Leader Course (ALC), Senior Leader Course (SLC), Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC), Warrant Officer Advanced Course (WOAC), and other Cyberspace Operations courses as determined by the Army Cyber Commandant. The majority of these courses consist of technical cyber training validated by USCYBERCOM J7, DoD CIO, and the NSA. The candidate shall provide instructional support and training development for the Cyber School. Personnel supporting the school shall assist and support the CCoE personnel and shall utilize and develop all training related products IAW all applicable regulations and SOPs (i.e. TRADOC REG 350-70 with appendixes). Instructors will facilitate adult learning through modern training techniques and methodologies and assist in developing Cyberspace Operations (CO) curriculum. The Cyber Common Technical Core (CCTC) course embraces the adult learning concept by creating an environment that is approximately 80% hands-on and 20% knowledge-based instruction. Qualifications: * Must be a U.S. citizen. * Must possess an active Top Secret / SCI security clearance. * The candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a Bachelor Degree, a minimum of 3 (three) additional years of experience in the subject areas below. Preferred degrees included Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or an equivalent degree. * Must have networking expertise and experience equivalent to the CCIE- R&S or JNCIE-SP level. * Must understand networking from both the theoretical & practical perspectives. * Must be comfortable with reading and understanding Requests for Comment (RFC). Must be comfortable with taking an RFC for a networking protocol and creating a compliant implementation from scratch. * Must be proficient in Python or Ruby * Must have experience in Software Defined Networking (SDN), including installation, operations, maintenance of a variety of SDN controllers (OpenDaylight, Open Contrail, etc). * Should be familiar with control plane protocols like OpenFlow. * Must have experience in instructing the aforementioned topics. * Possess skills/knowledge of performing office automation work that includes word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheets, presentations, and other personal computer applications; typing a variety of materials from rough draft into final form including narrative and tabular material, e.g., correspondence, reports, and forms; maintaining records, historical records, survey results, reference library of training catalogs, regulations and other miscellaneous publications; establishing and maintaining office functional files and reference files; knowledge management applications, e.g., SharePoint, Army training requirements and resources system (ATRRS), and Blackboard. * Must possess pedagogical / androgogical content knowledge, defined as the ability to recognize student mistakes, why they may have made those mistakes, and how to get students back on track from where they are. Instructor/writers must be able to diagnose underlying student misconceptions and misunderstandings from the mistakes they make and then help them correct those misconceptions and misunderstandings instead of merely addressing the mistakes themselves. * Possess advanced presentation speaking skills (e.g. tailoring content and delivery for different audiences, presenting confidently to large or small groups, and using more creative approaches to presenting). * Must have current Common Faculty Development -Instructor Course (CFD-IC) and Cadre Training Course (CTC) certifications. All personnel not properly CFD-IC and CTC qualified will have to successfully complete the course upon award of contract * Desired Skills: * Experience teaching technical computing concepts at the institutional and/or collegiate level. * Experience contributing in the open source community, examples include, published tools, reports, publications, repositories, etc. * Hands on technical experience installing, operating, and maintaining systems * Hands on experience building, managing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and securing enterprise level networks. * Network Project Management experience. * Experience securing enterprise level network. Duties: To train an effective workforce for the Army Cyber Mission Forces (CMF), instructors must provide a learner-centric learning environment as per TRADOC Pam 525-8-2. Technical instructors guide students as they learn course content. The technical instructors curate course material in a manner that encourages students to think creatively to solve complex problems which the students have never seen before. Instructors will refrain from using primarily static teaching methodologies that rely on presentation software. They will instead use dynamic techniques that engage students and encourage them to challenge common definitions of cyber and its potential battlespace effects. Specific requirements may change over the life of this work statement and instructors may need to adjust to incorporate in-scope changes. Specific duties include: * Foster a mentality of aggressive self-development in Cyber School students (e.g. 17 Series MOS), * Deliver approved instruction to students for each lesson via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. * Assist training developers, curriculum managers, and mission customers to design and implement a total training package; this includes creating instructional and evaluation content as required. * Periodically review and analyze training materials and recommend changes. * Serve with a combined team of US military, US government civilians, and defense contractors for all Cyber School courses conducted in-residence facilities or at other locations designated by the COR. * Assist the Cyber School Training and Education Directorate Team in developing all related training material and training products for Cyber School curriculum. The material shall be developed at no more than a training development industry accepted rate of 3:1 time ratio, where one hour of material would take no more than three hours to create. The 3:1 time ratio may be adjusted based on the complexity of the material as determined in collaboration by the Government and Contractor training development teams. * Stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time while delivering training. * Maintain established classroom security requirements and procedures as prescribed in TRADOC Pamphlet 350-70-4, FG policies and CCoE SOPs. All issues will be reported to the COR or TPOC as soon as identified. * Maintain and report student attendance, records, and statistics to the COR or Cyber School leadership IAW Fort Gordon Regulation 350-5 and CCoE SOPs. * Provide students with evaluation forms; administer and enforce test control standards; conduct assessments and testing in subjects taught; grade exams; evaluate results; record exam results; conduct AARs; and, administer student course critiques. Develop tests associated with the new curriculum. The tests shall be performance-based and/or criterion-referenced. Tests are controlled and sensitive materials. * Monitor and control entry and exit point(s) for a designated Testing facility or location. * Stay current with certifications required by paragraph 1.6.8 and provide a copy of certifications to the COR. * Utilize services of existing third-party government or commercial organizations to develop training, and deliver or assist with delivery of training requirements as determined by the COR, e.g., TDC, ATRRS, Blackboard, etc. * Maintain classroom conditions IAW Cyber School SOP. * Specific topic areas of instruction (All of these indicate technical expertise over general knowledge, planning, and administrative application): * Assess Cyberspace Related Risk * Integrate Intelligence into Cyberspace Operations * Employ Cyberspace Defense * Detect Indicators of Compromise, Unknown Vulnerabilities, or Anomalous Behavior * Perform Incident Response * Provide Cyber-Threat Indications and Warnings * Provide a Critical Asset Vulnerability Assessment * Implement Defensive Cyberspace Operations - Response Actions * Perform Cyberspace Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Activities * Perform Cyberspace Operational Preparation of the Environment * Perform Cyberspace Attack Operations Orders Benefits: * 3 weeks of paid vacation, plus 10 Federal holidays paid off, * 401K Matching * Silotech pays for 75% of the employees' medical coverage and 40% of the employee family's coverage. * Employee enrichment program.
