Job Description Lead Preschool Teacher Department Reports To FLSA Status Prepared By Approved By Preschool Center Manager Non Exempt Center Director AWOH-Oversight Board Job Summary Directly responsible for all daily operations Provide direct care for children Maintain a nurturing, safe, clean, and inviting atmosphere. Communicate effectively with children and adults. Comply with infections disease control policy Maintain full compliance of all center policies Maintain full compliance of all Bright from the Start rules and regulations Create weekly Lesson Plans for Classroom Responsible for classroom management Students Classroom Faculty General Accountabilities Greets arriving children, helps assist parents with any drop off questions. Responsible for weekly outline, weekly class objectives, classroom goals, and projects and communicates those objectives to children. Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities. Responsible organizing and leading activities designed to promote development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, etc. Conduct observations and evaluations of each child---s performance, behavior and social development. Participates in staff development activities, parent education and parent involvement activities. Enforces all administration policies and rules governing students. Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations. Attendance is required at all center wide training to include (Staff Meeting, individual meetings, Staff Development Training, any assigned training from the Director. Maintain training requirements The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Job Qualifications Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Must have a TCC, TCD, CDA, ECE Diploma, or higher in Early Childhood Education Experience: Must have at least one years of experience working in a licensed childcare center Must have taken approved training of Bright From The Start: Department of Early Care and Learning Must have CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety; or willing to obtain this certification within 90 days of employment. Must have a satisfactory Background Check (Live Scan check ) with Bright From the Start, Department of Early Care and Learning Skills Excellent verbal and written communication Active listening Instructing Coordination Learning strategies Role The person selected for this position, will be responsible for the direct supervision of children enrolled in the center. The Preschool Lead Teacher role should be that of a team member working directly with the preschool classroom faculty. This person is responsible for the supporting the vision of the center as well as the Center Director. This person should have basic knowledge of a professional, must be able to communicate, write, and read. Personal Qualifications The Preschool 2 Lead Teacher should possess personal attributes such as Honesty Initiative Diligence Organizational Skills Patience Consistency Willingness to Help Others Tactfulness Punctuality Good Listening Skills Good Communication Skills Friendliness Thoroughness Physical Demands Stamina Enthusiasm Lifting Pushing and Pulling Quick, sudden movements Be able to lift 25-40 pounds Be able to walk, run, squat, twist, kneel, sit, see, hear, and speak with all children care is provided for. Spiritual Responsibilities Personal Commitment and Dedication to Jesus Christ. Must be able to demonstrate the use of prayer within the classroom and during times of discipline with the children. Intergrade daily worship, prayer, and biblical /traditional family principles within each classroom. Working Conditions: -- Works weeks are scheduled anytime during Monday to Friday -- Schedules are posted on Fridays by 12noon -- Frequently exposed to noise and regular flow of people -- Frequently assigned to changing duties and assignments -- May be required to work overtime with paid compensation
