Job Description:
Job Title: Environmental Specialist I Job Location: Cayce, SC
Job Duration: 12 Months(Possibility for Extension) Job Description:
· Independently review gas transmission and distribution project
designs to determine potential environmental impacts. · Identify
environmental permits, law, and regulations applicable to gas
projects and effectively communicate requirements to team members
and the business unit as requested. · Assist in determinations of
environmental permit applicability for assigned projects with
specific knowledge of Section 404/401, Section 7, Section 106,
Erosion and Sediment Control, and Stormwater Management Programs. ·
Assist in preparation of applications to secure environmental
permits or clearances required for construction as requested. ·
Assist in communication of environmental compliance requirements
to, project personnel and field teams. · Assist in providing
technical assistance to sites/projects for environmental
compliance. · Assist in Preparing and conducting training. · Assist
in project oversight, tracking, data compilation, reporting, and
assignment of compliance and permitting tasks for
facilities/projects as requested. The knowledge, skills, abilities
and experiences required for entry into this job include the
following: · Advanced organizational skills, ability to follow a
process, work independently and take ownership of project workload.
· Experience with South Carolina Environmental regulatory programs
(CWA 401/404, Erosion and Sediment Control, Stormwater Management,
Land Disturbance). · Experience with linear project
development/execution. · Basic written and oral communication
skills. · Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint). · Basic logic and reasoning skills, to identify
strengths and weaknesses of alternatives, conclusions, or
approaches. · Ability to give full attention to others, to take
time understanding the points being made, and to ask questions. ·
Ability to assist with analysis and record keeping. · Ability to
adapt actions.
