The primary purpose of the Senior Process Engineer is to act as one of the very first steps in the manufacturing process and a key information medium for many aspects of the business. The Senior Process Engineer uses his/her thorough knowledge and leadership skills regarding process capability, product costing and raw materials to positively impact all areas of the business. The position provides cost data to accounting for product costs as well as ongoing cost savings projects. The individual must provide basic raw material requirements to planning. The position requires interface with marketing to provide product and process capability information. The manufacturing process engineer must also interface with engineering to assist and ensure long-term viability and capability of the equipment. The position requires regular and consistent interface with vendors of all raw materials. Lastly, the position requires a healthy interface with the production personnel to actively troubleshoot production problems as well as continually improve the process. Job Description

Process Engineers are product and process experts first and foremost. Using this knowledge, they drive product, process and cost improvements by running/managing projects and/or others with assigned projects.

Accountabilities
Observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.
Understand and comply with all current plant policies and procedures.
Provide leadership and mentor others in managing projects and developing the annual budget for product cost.
Documentation - maintain and initiate all documentation on the production floor used in the manufacture of product. This includes things like product bills of materials, raw material specifications (including packaging) and process setting documents.
Planning Bills - maintain and produce planning bill of materials, accurately describing the quantity of materials used in the manufacturing process.
Budgeting Process - maintain and produce bill of materials for the purpose of the budgeting process. Also produce labor and overhead quantities for the purpose of total product costing.
Trial New Material - interface with R&D, customers, Marketing and vendors to discover and trial new raw materials with the intent of improving performance or quality, reducing cost, and improving uptime.
Product Cost Reduction - implementation of new raw materials with the intent to reduce overall product cost. In addition to trailing the material and proving its performance/process ability, this involves initiating proper documentation, obtaining signoff, assisting in the run-out of obsolete materials and ensuring smooth transition to new materials. Cost reduction also involves managing the process to develop cost reduction ideas.
Quality - be a leader in the ongoing process of continued product quality improvement.
Process Educator - Act as a resource to operators, technicians and others for education in the proper setup of machinery as well as production of product. Take steps to educate self in these same areas to stay abreast of current developments in machinery, raw material and processes.
Provide updates as requested to Plant Leadership, Marketing, R&D, etc

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Math or a related technical field and minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must demonstrate some level of knowledge and experience using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
Prior Incontinence manufacturing experience preferred.
Project management experience preferred.
Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Minitab) is required.
Must demonstrate some level of knowledge and experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC).
