Job Description:

FEV North America, Inc is seeking a Project Engineer for its Commercial Powertrain Team.

The Project Engineer, Heavy-duty Engine Testing and Calibration will support large diesel engine testing and development efforts at a customer facility in South Carolina. FEV engineer will work in close cooperation with customer personnel to lead/coordinate the following test engineering activities:


Job Responsibilities:

  • Engine and DPF installation into a development test cell, including all necessary connections, measurement points and instrumentation
  • Plan, coordinate and execute the testing of prototype engines, engine components and aftertreatment systems
  • Calibrate prototype engines ensuring they comply with current emission legislations while considering all other requirement specifications
  • Record and analyses of extensive measurement parameter list over entire testing
  • Maintain graphical display of all important engine parameters throughout testing
  • Summarize all findings, both engine test results (data) and physical inspections, in summary report

    Required Qualifications:

    • BSME Minimum, Master's preferred
    • 1 to 5 years of experience in diesel engine testing
    • Strong knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and internal combustion engines
    • Strong knowledge of diesel combustion process
    • Strong knowledge of diesel aftertreatment systems
    • Experience using commercially available calibration tools (INCA, etc.)
    • Demonstrated focus on quality and timeliness
    • Good communication skills

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • US citizen or Permanent Residence a plus
