for designing and executing test environments for Quality Assurance
Engineers. Tests products and software to ensure quality and a
successful rollout. Assists in managing project teams, developing
test strategies and designing quality assurance practices. Leads
Engineering teams in investigation process which includes
identifying, reproducing and documents defects, bugs, or problems.
Maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and
activities. Utilizes clearly defined standards, methods and
procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision,
accuracy and reliability of company products. Assists product
support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Integrates knowledge
of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in
a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and

DescriptionAdditional Job Summary/Info:We are seeking an
experienced Senior QA Engineer to take responsibility for
designing, developing, and executing software tests to ensure that
our in-house Content Management System (CMS) meets business and
product requirements. As the Senior QA Engineer for the Xumo
Software Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in the
testing and quality assurance of our CMS. This position requires a
strong background in QA and testing methodologies, as you will be
responsible for thoroughly testing the frontend application,
backend functionality (including API testing and data
verification), and the overall infrastructure to ensure a seamless
and reliable user experience for millions of viewers accessing our
content via various streaming devices and internal/external
operators through our CMS. To excel in this role, you must
consistently provide clear and effective technical solutions that
align with the business requirements set by the product and
operations teams. Position Duties: Drive design, develop the
quality assurance for Content Management System
- Work closely with front-end and back-end engineering teams
during design discussions and sprint processes to assess testing
requirements and time estimates.
- Work closely with frontend and backend engineering teams to
progress testing developed items to verify if it meets assessed
test requirements.
- Create, maintain, and execute test plans to provide concise and
accurate feedback, across all necessary areas, including
functional, non-functional, regression, performance, security, and
user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Manage test plans, using QA test tools, such as QA Touch.
- Manage test progression to be tracked and shared using project
management tools, such as JIRA.
- Stay updated with the latest testing approaches and frameworks.
Managing quality assurance across departments.
- Collaborate with product and operation team to collect detailed
information with any requests or issues in UI/UX experience with
CMS or in client application.
- Collaborate with the product and operation teams to gather
requirements for updates, new features, and bugs. Share QA testing
strategies and solutions through documentation, which may include
test plans and diagrams, to be communicated to multiple team
members.
- Participate in the evaluation of new product concepts and work
with the Product and Operation teams to assess and validate
prototypes. Finalize software testing requirements based on
business and product needs by translating design and wireframes
into comprehensive test cases. Qualifications

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related
subject
- 5+ years' experience of software QA testing
- 5+ years' experience of testing with web service APIs
(REST/SOAP) and HTTP/SSL protocol.
- 5+ years' experience of testing with SQL/NoSQL database (MySQL,
PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
- 5+ years' experience of testing with Docker
- 5+ years' experience of testing with message brokers
(RabbitMQ/Kafka/WebSphere)
- 5+ years' experience of testing with scripting tool
(Python/bash)
- 5+ years' experience of testing with code repositories (GitHub,
Bitbucket, Source Forge)
- 5+ years' experience of testing with Jenkins
- Strong leads with designing and implementation skills to
approach the solution for any new features or problem solving.
- Self-starter to able to work with minimal supervision for high
quality output. Desirable Experiences
- Experience manipulating video contents (content metadata,
caption file, video format file, etc.)
- Knowledge of various video formats: HLS, MP4, Mpeg-Dash
- Experience for test automation with API / UI application
- Experience testing with cloud-based environments (Google Cloud,
AWS, Azure)
- Experience with testing with Java based environment. Core
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Product and Development teams to identify
product and technical requirements. Reviews and verifies
requirements and design specifications for validity in overall
product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and
verification.
- Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance test
philosophies and methodologies. Identifies viable test strategies
in order to support testing product functionality.
- Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to
the solution of assigned projects. Publishes detailed test
strategies, test plans and test cases.
- Develops test cases and detail test scenarios for Quality
Assurance Engineers and oversees their execution, tracking and
automation. Ensures proper execution of regression test procedures
and automated test suites and scripts. Participates in design, code
and functional product reviews to facilitate white-box test
design.
- Reviews project progress, evaluates results and recommends
corrections in technical applications and analysis.
- Leads in the identification and resolution of problems and
defects. Initiates investigation processes, identifies and
reproduces bugs or defects and drives issues and improvements to
resolution.
- Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Quality Assurance
Engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with
regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
- Supports trials of new infrastructure designs/services.
- Works with vendors to troubleshoot problems when
necessary.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in
matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to
work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as
necessary.
