Job Description:
The Project Manager role requires hands on research and development operations focused on both process and product work streams as well as comprehensive testing and data analysis both onsite and with our world-class research partners. Responsibilities include optimizing, managing and monitoring the key components of the production process as well as preparing, executing and analyzing the identified testing protocols and plans while also coordinating these functions with the manufacturing plant operators and seamlessly interfacing with technical and business management professionals in the R&D partners, in the lab testing parties and supporting the company's senior executive teams business plans for producing and marketing our first-class pioneering product offering.
An engineering problem-solver with a Chemical and Plant and Equipment background is highly valued.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Working closely with our Chief Science Officer and Director of R&D, initiate, coordinate, track and help execute all stages of product and process development and core testing procedures.
Partner with the management team on the development of new products from concept design, prototype execution to final production and quality control implementation.
Evaluate all product development prototypes and other product line submissions and assist with the establishment of standards for final product implementation set from the R&D and lab teams through the first production runs. Track and help execute the master product production database for all reformulations and update production and quality control standards on an ongoing basis.
Learn and assist with the optimizing of the testing protocols and production procedures used by the company and become thoroughly familiar with the company's process and testing methods and systems.
After appropriate onboarding and training, supervise the comprehensive daily testing operations of the company at the operating facility.
Set up the protocols and systems and perform the quality control product acceptance testing and evaluation of the scaled up finished product output and work closely with the operations teams to improve the process efficiencies and error rates.
As the production process scales assist with the hiring and training and management of the core R&D and Testing associates hired to grow the R&D and Product team.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Wood Science, Materials Science and Engineering with complimentary laboratory and other technical training is highly desirable. Other Engineering and Chemistry backgrounds will certainly be considered with demonstrated interest in our company mission.
Experience with the EPA regarding
Minimum of two (2) years working in an operations environment or in a lab testing environment.
Inorganic materials chemistry knowledge and practical R&D and science based new product development process experience is helpful background.
Wood products industry knowledge including forestry, sawmill and or wood treating and preservative experience welcomed but not mandatory.
Must be technically competent and practical, with a natural interest and ability for problem solving.
Strong organization and planning skills.
Must welcome and be willing to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic workplace.
Demonstrated collaboration, interpersonal and solid communication and people skills as teamwork and discussions with colleagues, vendors and partners are frequent.
