Job Description:
Position Summary The Production Operations Manager at America's
Remanufacturing Company (ARC) is responsible for the efficient
execution of product remanufacturing activities. The expectations
of this position are comprised of two primary principles: high
throughput, and process integrity. High production output is
essential for the success of ARC but can never be achieved at the
expense of process compliance. The processes in place at ARC are
the main value driver for our customers and any failure in process
adherence is a failure to meet our commitment to our customer.
Primary Responsibilities Production
- Ensure SOPs, Standards, and Processes are adhered to without
deviation.
- Monitor quality and initiate action to prevent product or
process nonconformity.
- Collect data to create reports and communicate results to upper
management.
- Manage and maintain inventory integrity through the
remanufacturing process.
- Promote safety in the work area by understanding and complying
with safety procedures and reporting all accidents in a timely
manner.
- Ensure consistency with employee corrective action, discipline,
and performance appraisals.
- Ensure building security in all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure overall building security when assigned closing
duties.
- Coordinate and liaise with fellow department managers to ensure
the overall efficient operation of the plant.
- Direct and oversee all recycling operations within the
plant.
- Takes responsibility for the function and output of the
department and ensures that the job gets done. This may on occasion
include working outside of the regular scheduled hours to ensure
the completion of deadlines. Quality
- Lead the internal plant Quality team to resolve quality issues
in order to drive and promote a culture of quality within the
entire organization.
- Support the development of strategies and drive actions to
increase customer satisfaction, mitigate return rates, and reduce
financial impacts and risks arising from poor quality.
- Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality
standards in accordance with industry standards and customer
expectations.
- Monitors and identifies gaps in daily operations including but
not limited to the areas of documentation, review/verification,
records management, data collection, and reporting.
- Conducts and oversees Quality activities for all functional
areas of remanufacturing operations.
- Provides feedback to operations team regarding performance
trends and areas of
- improvement.
- Establishes work procedures and processes that support company
standards, procedures, and strategic directives.
- Coordinate and liaise with fellow department managers to ensure

- Review Pace Report and adjust as needed.
- Allocate human and material resources to facilitate efficient
operations.
- Base decisions on company priorities
- Evaluate current processes and recommend changes.
- Assign products to production lines as needed to execute the
production plan most efficiently. New Product Process Development
- Assist in the development of remanufacturing process for new
products added to existing programs. Employee Management
- Monitor and improve productivity of 65+ employees in multiple
areas to achieve efficiency goals.
- Manage the placement and evaluation of new employees.
- Ensure all hands operating as part of the production department
are trained, informed, and capable of executing their assigned
processes.
- Includes work instruction, standards, kitting, safety, tools,
testing devices, PPE, etc.
- Mentor and develop line supervisors and subordinates to form a
top tier team dedicated to achieving plant production goals.
- Constructively evaluate production supervisory and line level
staff in accordance with their evaluation schedule
- Organize necessary interventions for improvement.
- Ensure the proper application and execution of disciplinary
action as warranted.
- Review and approve any and all disciplinary action within your
area of responsibility.
- Any action resulting in greater than 75 points must be reviewed
and approved by your immediate supervisor.
- Staffing
- Assign personnel as needed to execute operational plans as
efficiently as possible.
- Adjust personnel assignments to account for absences or product
interruptions.
- Recommend changes to staffing goals. Secondary Responsibilities
Production Facilitation
- Have all necessary material available in production and quality
departments and ready for use at all time.
- Manuals, Boxes, Bags, Tools, and Equipment
- Ensure all items, workflows, upgrades, and part assignments are
prepared for the day. Line Prep/Organization
- Organization is paramount in all areas of ARC. Maintain
organized and clearly defined workspaces throughout your area of
responsibility.
- Ensure lines are prepared with the necessary chemicals, tools,
packaging, Instructions, Standards, and other items prior to them
being needed. Housekeeping
- Ensure that all work areas are clear of debris and hazards to
movement.
- Remove all trash and damaged pallets.
- Ensure all lines are swept, all fans are powered off, all
lights turned off, and the aisle is clear at the end of day. Parts
Management
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all new and recovered parts
on hand to assist in production.
- Execute regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Allocate parts to production lines as needed. You may be
directly tasked by:
- Facility Operations Manager Prerequisites and Qualifications
- Associate degree (preferred)
- Experience leading teams of at least 10 other individuals
- Demonstrated ability to enforce company standards and
policy
- Advanced level familiarity with computer systems
- Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office
- Effective Communication skills
- Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to work with all levels of company staff
- Comfortable providing direct written and verbal feedback
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing organizational and
operational needs
- Ability to function in a high stress environment while focusing
on exceeding operational goals
