--- Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers
--- Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements
--- Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and
suppliers
--- Monitor material pricing in conjunction with budget
expectations as well as seek cost savings opportunities
--- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors
and suppliers.
--- Establish standards and procedures for purchasing
activities
--- Monitor purchasing to ensure appropriate- and timeliness of
material purchases
--- Track and record monthly and annual receipts of goods
--- Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries
to meet customer requirements
--- Surveil purchasing problems, vendor claims, cost savings
opportunities, new product issues
--- Liase with all production departments regarding needs, timings,
performance of raw materials
--- Oversee the stock room warehouse
--- Supervise, evaluate and coach staff membersProfessional
Experience:
--- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required
--- At least 7 years purchasing experience, or equivalent, at a
management level
--- Purchasing certification preferred, but not required
--- 6-Sigma certification a plusTechnical Skills:
--- 3 year SAP and MRP experience desired
--- Microsoft office skills proficiency required
--- Strong communication skills
--- Good problem solving skills
--- Strong interpersonal skills
--- Flexible
