Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION: Executive Director of the Healing Center
This position is located in Greenwood, SC and reports to the
President.
Primary Purpose: To manage all aspects of the Healing Center in
promotion of the core components: research, community-based
services, and partnership development. Ensure all components
consistently contribute to the growth of the Circle of Healing for
children and families, and to supervise Healing Center
accordingly.
Essential Functions:
---Serves as Administrator of the Healing Center, which includes
management of the Circle of Healing, as well as supporting and
helping in the coordination of admissions, assessment (mind, body,
spirit), training, Individualized Treatment Plans, and Family
Social Workers---Facilitates the day-to-day management of the
Healing Center directly relating to Research, providing ongoing
research in the care and treatment processes for children and
adults in need---Develops treatment models to assist populations in
residential, foster care, and family care---Facilitates the
day-to-day management of the Healing Center directly relating to
Community Based Services ---Develops and nurtures educational
partner relationships at a local, state, and national level
---Models a work philosophy that is child-centered and
family-focused and which acknowledges the constructive
contributions of staff---Fosters a daily atmosphere which
emphasizes the needs of children and families, and works with teams
to ensure that decisions are made in the best interest of the
child---Provides leadership and enlists support for services and
encourage harmonious teamwork---Meets regularly with the Vice
President for Programs to plan and evaluate services, community
based service array, areas of focused research, and makes
recommendations for staff training and for other quality
improvements---Provides staff support to accomplish Connie
Maxwell's mission statement and helps staff to be accountable for
provision of high quality services---Is regularly visible at The
Healing Center and at the request of partnering
organizations---Uses the team to plan and support the budget as
determined by the President---Represents The Healing Center at
special functions outside and within Connie Maxwell---Regularly
participates in special events at Connie Maxwell---Serves on agency
committees when needed---Serves as CMCM community ambassador,
seeking ways to build lasting partnerships ---Works towards
achieving yearly "Gold Star" list---Other duties as assigned by the
Supervisor
Additional Responsibilities:---Attends professional development
trainings and conferences as recommended by Supervisor
Qualifications:
---Master's degree from an accredited college in counseling,
psychology, or related social science; Doctoral degree is preferred
in one of social sciences ---Five to Seven years of demonstrated
competence required in the administration and supervision of child
welfare services---Extensive knowledge of trauma, trauma informed
care, and models of best practice---Well versed in counseling
theory, technique, and practice for the professional and lay
person---Knowledge of the nature of child and family welfare
---Knowledge of child growth and development---Experienced in
conducting professional research in accordance with APA and IRB
requirements---Ability to plan, organize, and manage a
comprehensive multi-faceted program ---Excellent leadership skills,
with ability to motivate others in a collaborative
manner---Excellent listening and communication skills---Team
building skills---Conflict management/conflict resolution
skills---Budget planning management within budgetary
guidelines---Problem solving skills

Work Conditions:
---Sitting or standing for extended periods of time---Dexterity of
hand and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to
handle other computer components ---Ability to work flexible hours
including weekends based on ministry needs---Ability to work under
stress during peak workload periods
