timers not accepted Experience in a very large and busy emergency
department with high acuity Description: The position requires a
registered nurse with a minimum of two years of experience in an
emergency department. The nurse will care for a diverse patient
population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. Certifications
in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support,
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, and Pediatric Advanced
Life Support are required. The emergency department is certified
for stroke and STEMI care. The nurse will work in a general
emergency department setting with a patient ratio of 1:4. The daily
patient census averages between 165 and 175 patients. Familiarity
with the Epic charting system is mandatory. The position
necessitates an ability to manage various conditions such as
abdominal pain, respiratory infections, and traumatic injuries.
Skills in managing ventilated patients, administering medications,
and performing triage are essential. Availability to work every
other weekend and on major holidays is required, with no time off
during specific busy periods. The role also entails participation
in a clinical review to determine fit for the position. Two
supervisory references are preferred at the time of application.
