nights - Employment Type: Staff Job Summary We invite compassionate
and highly skilled Registered Nurses to join our Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit (NICU) team in Augusta, GA. You will provide expert
nursing care to critically ill neonates, support families,
collaborate with a dedicated neonatal care team, and contribute to
a culture of excellence, safety and innovation. Key
Responsibilities - Perform comprehensive assessments of neonates,
plan and deliver individualized care, and evaluate outcomes. -
Monitor and manage advanced neonatal support therapies including
ventilation, infusions, thermoregulation, nutrition and invasive
monitoring. - Administer medications and treatments specific to
neonatal critical care safely; respond to emergent changes in
neonate status. - Educate and support families of neonates, involve
them in care, and provide clear discharge and follow-up teaching. -
Collaborate with neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners,
respiratory therapists, pharmacy, nutrition and other team members
for coordinated care. - Maintain accurate, timely documentation of
all assessments, interventions and outcomes in the electronic
medical record. - Participate in performance improvement
initiatives, shared governance, evidence-based practice and
neonatal nursing research. - Mentor or precept new NICU nursing
staff; promote a positive, team-oriented, professional environment.
Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN
preferred). - Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the
State of Georgia (or Compact License). - Required certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Additional neonatal certifications preferred. - Neonatal intensive
care nursing experience preferred (1-2 years or more) in a
high-acuity NICU setting. - Strong clinical judgment, excellent
communication and critical thinking skills; ability to thrive in a
fast-paced and complex neonatal environment. - Comprehensive
