This dynamic position offers the opportunity to contribute to patient recovery in a busy hospital setting while enjoying flexible scheduling and supportive team collaboration. As a key member of the psychiatric team, you'll provide expert care to adult and geriatric patients, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and contributing to improved mental health outcomes. Required Skills: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a valid South Carolina medical license or eligibility Board certification in Psychiatry or active board eligibility Proven experience in inpatient psychiatric care, preferably with adult and geriatric populations Excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Proficiency in prescribing medications, conducting thorough evaluations, and completing required documentation promptly Nice to Have Skills: Experience supervising nurse practitioners or licensed mid-level providers Knowledge of EPICT EMR system or similar electronic health record platforms Familiarity with CMS guidelines for prescribing narcotics and pre-admission screenings Preferred Education and Experience: MD or DO degree with at least 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience Prior locum or hospital-based psychiatric practice preferred Active South Carolina medical license or eligibility to obtain one Other Requirements: Estimated credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days Willingness to provide coverage from February 2026, with flexibility for specific start dates Ability to supervise and collaborate with one mid-level provider Travel costs (if applicable) may be reimbursed; someone within driving distance is preferred This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career while making a meaningful impact.
