fast-paced environment Description: The Registered Nurse Specialty
functions under the direction of the Office Manager and Physician.
The nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing process based
on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse coordinates and
provides safe patient care with an understanding of age-appropriate
and culturally aware needs. The nurse addresses the patient and
family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and
educational needs. The nurse delivers patient care in complex
situations and coordinates patient care activities. The nurse is
responsible for staff development and professional
self-development. The nurse independently performs job functions.
Assesses patients using Triage flow sheets and guidelines.
Anticipates patient needs, difficulties, and potential problems
related to diagnosis and situation. Communicates with the physician
regarding any complications. Prepares patients and assists
providers with examinations and procedures, providing necessary
equipment and supplies. Manages patients with chest pain to
facilitate assessment and maximize the patient's potential for
recovery. Provides patient education for Holter monitors, event
monitors, devices, and procedures. Assists with gathering medical
records and ensures confidentiality. Assesses needs and assists
with medication refills. Coordinates back office flow and processes
to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Facilitates smooth patient flow
to decrease wait times and increase office efficiency. Assesses
patient needs and symptoms based on collected data. Coordinates
scheduling of patients needing new devices or procedures. Assists
in managing medication dosages according to office guidelines. Must
be able to multitask and function without supervision in emergent
situations. Completes documentation and charting associated with
patient visits and care. Assists physicians with patient rounds and
post-procedure assessments. Communicates with physicians regarding
complications of patient recovery. Collaborates with other
healthcare team members regarding patient care issues. Manages
initial cases of actual or suspected exposure to biological agents.
Collaborates with providers to develop and implement clinical
policies and procedures. Coordinates quality control development,
implementation, and monitoring for clinical functions. Educates
patients on the use and applications of monitoring devices. Must be
proficient in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and venipuncture. Performs
electrocardiograms. Obtains laboratory reports and ensures provider
review and patient notification of results. Assures proper
collection of specimens and preparation of laboratory request
forms. Ensures that rooms and equipment are clean and appropriately
stocked. Retrieves voicemail messages and reviews patient
electronic medical records. Records all phone conversations with
patients in the electronic medical record. Reports test results to
patients at the direction of the physician. Performs other duties
as assigned. Complies with all policies, standards of work, and
