Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology; less than 1 year experience
in CT preferred License: ARRT Radiography Certifications: ARRT
Computed Tomography; Basic Life Support Must-Have: - Excellent
communication skills - Ability to function both independently and
as part of a team - Detail-oriented and able to multitask -
Competent in all aspects of CT, patient positioning, exposure
factors, and radiation protection Description: Must be flexible
with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable,
accountable, and cooperative. Assists with providing safe,
age-appropriate care to patients by performing exams according to
department procedures. Possesses the knowledge and ability to
properly and safely obtain quality diagnostic studies. Responsible
for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring
independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Sets up equipment
to provide imaging services and positions patients for procedures.
Verifies proper clinician orders for procedures. Obtains complete
clinical history, gathers examination data, and assesses for
contraindicating conditions. Follows established procedures for the
administration of contrast media. Ensures that all studies have
proper patient identification and markers are utilized
appropriately. Reviews CT/radiographic images for clinically
acceptable results and releases patients. Responds to emergency
situations and assists with maintaining life support equipment.
Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed. Observes
patient condition and evaluates situations for necessary physician
intervention. Verifies patient identity using two unique
identifiers prior to performing a procedure. Ensures patient's
privacy and comfort are prioritized. Demonstrates competence in
age-appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques. Organizes
schedule and time to accomplish required activities within
designated timeframes. Follows physician instructions when
assisting with procedures and exams. Demonstrates proficiency with
loading and operating power injection. Utilizes critical thinking
skills and engages in dialogues with patients and families. Seeks
clarification on ambiguous orders and demonstrates understanding of
the preprocedural verification process. Prepares the patient for
procedures and maintains competency with venipuncture. Adjusts
technique to ensure the lowest possible dose of radiation while
maintaining image quality. Reports any equipment malfunctions to
the supervisor for timely correction. Cleans, disinfects, and
maintains equipment following infection control policies. Explains
the purpose and nature of exams to patients to minimize anxiety.
Addresses patient questions and concerns satisfactorily before
initiating procedures. Participates in the orientation and training
of departmental employees. Completes all required documentation
concisely and legibly. Reads emails daily and follows through with
assignments. Completes mandatory departmental and educational
requirements without prompting. Ensures consistent production of
acceptable images through quality audits and radiologist feedback.
Checks that equipment is operational and properly calibrated prior
to each use. Sends all studies to PACS immediately after completion
and prints CDs as needed. Restocks linens and supplies while
maintaining a clean department. Transports and positions patients
and assists them on and off procedure tables. Performs patient
charging activities on the day services are rendered. Applies
shielding, supportive and immobilization devices as necessary.
Lends knowledge and assistance to others as needed without
prompting. Performs clerical duties to ensure continuity and
quality of services. Maintains an individual productivity rate
comparable to co-workers. Operates all workstations associated with
the CT department appropriately. Maintains compliance with
regulatory standards. Takes call when necessary. Performs other
duties as assigned. Complies with all applicable policies,
standards of work, and code of conduct. Requirements Required for
