experience in community hospital settings - Experience in inpatient
oncology, administration of chemotherapy, body fluid handling
post-chemotherapy, monitoring chemotherapy, administration of blood
and blood products, care and management of ports, central
line/implanted line care, neutropenic precautions, and
accessing/managing ports Description: The position requires a
registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the
specialty of Medical Surgical Oncology. The nursing staff will care
for adults and geriatric patients with oncology and hematology
diagnoses. Responsibilities include managing oncologic emergencies
and providing care from diagnosis to end-of-life. Knowledge of
chemotherapy precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, CADD
pumps, and PCA pumps is essential. The patient-to-nurse ratio will
be 1:6, with an average daily census of 15 patients in a 19-bed
unit. Interdisciplinary support services will include IV teams,
physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services,
radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams,
pharmacy, and transportation. The role may require floating within
the facility based on the scope of practice as needed. Holidays and
weekend work are expected as part of the assignment. All compliance
documentation must be completed prior to the start date to ensure
