Job Description:
HCA Healthcare invites applications for the position of Nurse
Extern PRN. This role offers a unique opportunity to integrate
classroom knowledge with practical application in a dynamic
healthcare setting. Reporting directly to the Nursing unit, the
extern will support the delivery of patient-centered care under the
supervision of a registered nurse. This opportunity allows you to
witness firsthand the operational aspects of healthcare, enhance
your clinical skills, and engage in direct patient care activities.
As part of HCA Healthcare, a leader in medical services, you will
experience the breadth of healthcare dynamics at nearly 2,000 sites
of care, including high-quality hospitals and surgery centers
across the United States. Assist registered nurses and other
healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. Participate in
patient assessments and the preparation of care plans. Observe and
document patient responses to treatment. Administer medications and
treatments as directed. Collaborate with the healthcare team to
provide a seamless patient experience. Engage in learning
opportunities and seek feedback for performance improvement. Adhere
to facility policies and procedures ensuring safe and effective
care. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic
understanding of clinical practices and protocols. Ability to use
or learn to use healthcare software and systems. Empathy and
interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families.
Capacity to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while

Certification required or must be obtained within a specified
timeframe after hire. Active status as a Nurse Aide in Training if
