qualifications will not be considered. Provide specialized care as
a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) focused on
cardiology cases. This contract opportunity is based in Lexington,
NC, offering the chance to work within an academic medical center
known for its Level 1 Trauma Designation and advanced cardiac
services. Location Overview:Located near Winston-Salem, this
medical center boasts 885 licensed beds and is recognized as a
Chest Pain and Stroke Center, serving a diverse patient population
with complex cardiovascular needs. The facility supports
professional growth with cutting-edge technology and a
collaborative unit culture emphasizing teamwork. Key
Responsibilities: Deliver direct nursing care to PCU patients with
cardiac diagnoses such as Acute Coronary Syndrome, heart failure,
NSTEMI/STEMI, post cardiac catheterization, and arrhythmia
management. Monitor and titrate cardiac medications including gtts
like Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerine, and others.
Interpret cardiac rhythms and assist with post-procedural care
including pacemaker and ICD management. Collaborate closely with
interdisciplinary teams, including CNAs, respiratory therapists,
hospitalists, and intensivists on a 24/7 basis. Utilize advanced
technological systems such as Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell
medication dispensing, and Philips monitors. Support patient safety
through hourly rounds and assist with activities of daily living as
necessary. Qualifications / Desired Experience: Registered Nurse
licensure with at least 1 year of cardiology or stepdown
experience. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Proficient
in cardiac rhythm interpretation and post-procedural cardiac care.
Comfortable titrating various cardiac drip medications listed
above. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Schedule/Hours:
Day shifts: 6:30 AM 7:00 PM Night shifts: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM Weekend
rotation every other weekend; approximately 75% holiday work. No
on-call duties; up to 5 days return to office per schedule cycle.
