Patrols and monitors internal and external company property to
maintain a safe and secure environment. Investigates unusual or
suspicious situations. Enforces company procedures and regulations
during and after normal work hours. Assists employees, physicians,
visitors and patients by providing information, assistance and
escort service. Responds to incidents or emergencies and takes
necessary action to resolve problems and prevent injury or
destruction of property. Performs other duties as needed.
Demonstrates population-specific competencies (e.g.
age-specific, cultural sensitivity, patient-centered communication)
in performance of role.
High school diploma or GED required.
Firearms license by the Georgia Board of Private Detective and
Security Agencies required.Valid Georgia or South Carolina driver's
license and current automobile liability insurance required. Report
of Motor Vehicle Record for past five (5) years required.Management
of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification required.
Two (2) years of security or military experience required.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Knowledge of the criminal justice system, company regulations
and procedures. Basic verbal and written language skills sufficient
to write with clarity, follow verbal and written instructions
including moderately technical documents and manuals relating to
the performance of security functions and criminal law. Utilizes
critical thinking skills and provides the appropriate level of
force for the situation. Excellent interpersonal, communication and
customer services skills to communicate effectively. Ability to
operate firefighting equipment, two way radios, CCTV and computer
equipment. Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency
situations. High level of responsibility, dependability and
judgement required as demonstrated by consistent and positive work
Must be at least 21 years of age. Demonstrates the mental and
physical ability to run, stand for long periods of time, climb
several flights of steps, lift, and restrain individuals as
necessary. To respond to fires, and to fight fires if necessary,
and stand for long periods of time directing traffic and patrolling
University Health Care System complies with applicable federal
