REPORTS TO: Foundry SuperintendentLOCATION / SHIFT: Thomson GA Foundry / 2nd ShiftPURPOSE OF POSITION: The second shift foundry supervisor will be responsible for managing a diverse and talented manufacturing team. Your primary goal is to organize 30+ staff members, resources, and processes to achieve daily/weekly targets. Your position will also include directing, rewarding, disciplining, training, and assisting the team on the factory floor.Duties and Responsibilities:--- Responsible for day-to-day environmental, safety, and health compliance to federal and state regulations and company policy within the foundry and its adjacent areas--- Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results--- Enforces company policies and guidelines--- Assist in the development and delivery of classroom and shop-floor training--- Assists workers by offering personal growth opportunities--- Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques--- Ensures that production schedule are completed in accordance to the plan--- Contacts and works closely with maintenance team on breakdowns and repairs--- Counsels employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow--- Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees--- Creates and maintains professional schedules--- Communicates with and assists other manufacturing departments as needed--- Evaluates the condition of production equipment and reports data professionally--- Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers--- Compiles and analyzes production records for continuous improvement--- Identifies, resolves and/or reports bottlenecks in the process for continuous improvement--- Assists in the follow-up and completion of continuous improvement projects.--- Able to work flexible shifts on an as need basis--- Other duties as assigned by managerEducation and Experience:--- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or six years related foundry supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Skills & Qualifications:--- Previous supervisory experience with a solid understanding of problem solving and process standardization--- Excellent coaching and communication skills--- Understanding of how to navigate within SAP and Microsoft tools--- Broad knowledge of production planning processes--- Strategic planning skills--- Able to deal with complex issues across multiple departments GIW Industries, Inc.
