Job Description:

*POSITION SUMMARY (Interested Candidates MUST apply online through the county website/select "Jobs"/then look for job #1725)*

The incumbent in the position requires the ability to perform benefits and general human resources related job functions professionally, provide excellent customer service, be flexible, and communicate effectively to both internal and external customers. The incumbent is responsible for routine and non-routine tasks related to compensation administration and routine human resources administration functions. The position has contact with internal and external customers to include County Manager, Deputy County Manager, and Division Directors, regular and temporary employees, vendors and general public.

Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, occasional lifting of objects weighing less than 25 pounds is required. Work is performed in an office environment and some functions of the position may require travel to other County facilities.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business preferred. Three years of classification, compensation or benefits experience in a Human Resources environment and excellent oral and written communication skills are required. A valid driver's license is required. SHRM-CP Certification highly desired.

* *PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES*

Inputs and maintains employee information utilizing various computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite, DocuSign and inputs changes bi-weekly/monthly in the Munis system.

* Enters and submits all job requisition requests electronically.
* Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
* Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
* Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
* Publish biweekly employee newsletter using Canva or other publishing software.
* Serves a primary contact with reception area and front counter, provides information to internal and external customers, answers phones, prepares photo identification cards, and provides any other customer service assistance as necessary.
* Prepares and updates position descriptions in accordance with requirements from Compensation Manager
* Processes purchasing card transactions for input in Munis and forwards to the Finance Department.
* Backup for e-verify.
* Assists with the applicant tracking and application processes.
* Organizes and implements all new hire orientation tasks.
* Performs other duties as assigned.*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*
* Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers in an efficient, professional and patient manner.
* Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
* Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
* Strong technology skills with the ability adapt and learn new programs quickly.
* Totally proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to obtain Notary Certification.
* Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them.
* Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws and local ordinances.
* Knowledge of office procedures, computer operations and complex record keeping systems.
* Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication.
* Ability to remain flexible and accept progressive responsibilities of the position.

*DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE*
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business preferred. Three years of classification, compensation and benefits experience in a Human Resources environment and excellent oral and written communication skills are required. A valid driver's license is required. SHRM-CP Certification highly desired.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.28 per hour
