Augusta has a moderate year-round climate and is located a few hours from Atlanta, Savannah, GA and Columbia, Charleston, SC.Learn more about this agency### Responsibilities* Provide administrative guidance in the form of Standard Operating Procedures and others as needed.* Create employee standards for performance evaluation.* Approve training for security personnel to ensure training standards meet regulatory guidelines.* Manage subordinate personnel to achieve organizational goals.* Execute a program for guard security functions designed primarily for the protection of life and government property; enforcement of laws and regulations; and operational control of security areas.* Manage subordinates attendance and overtime as necessary to meet mission objectives.* Brief the higher level of the organizational chain of command to inform them of any incidents at access control points or actions by guard force personnel which would result in public interest.* Conduct meetings with subordinate supervisors and or union personnel with guidance of the CPAC Labor Officer to ensure the workforce meets the mission goal.* Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of the work to achieve mission goals.* Manage workforce with the primary function of providing security to protect physical property and personnel on the installation.* Coordinate the activity of a guard shift to ensure physical security standards, enforcement of Federal, state and local laws, protection of government and personal property.* Ensures all required equipment is properly maintained in accordance to local guidelines.### Travel RequiredOccasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 5% for this position.##### Supervisory statusYes##### Promotion PotentialNone* #### Job family (Series)0085 Security Guard#### Similar jobs* Guards, Security* Security Guards* RequirementsHelp## Requirements### Conditions of Employment* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.* This position requires pre-employment and annual physical examinations (physical, emotional and mental stability, etc.), as well as a physical ability test requirement.* This position requires you to be able to qualify semi-annually with assigned firearm and carry a firearm.* This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (ANACI-T3).* This position requires that you wear a DA prescribed uniform, handgun, body armor, NBC gear and all other equipment designated by the PMO.* This position requires you to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.* This position requires you to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime and emergency overtime as required.* During non-duty hours/days, may be required to report as a member of an emergency response force during actual or simulated accident/incident.* This position requires that you possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.* This position require incumbent to meet and maintain requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) per IAW AR 190-56.* This is an "inclement weather essential" position which requires the incumbent to report for duty during inclement weather.* This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Incumbent must sign a DA-5019-R (Condition of Employment) and must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.* This position requires incumbent pass periodic proficiency examinations.* TDY is required up to 5% of the time.* This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
