Job Description:

POSITION: Foundry Process Control Analyst REPORTS TO: Sand and Process Quality Specialist Shift: First Shift PURPOSE OF POSITION: The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting sand tests, to include tensile strength, grain fineness, loss of ignition, and sand hardness, moistures test and acid demand value. The position will be responsible for logging blender calibrations and thermocouple readings. Foundry Process Control Analyst will also be responsible for inspecting molds and cores at every step of the process. The analyst will inspect castings prior to release from cleaning and heat treat, using liquid penetrant inspection and ultrasound inspection. The position requires writing and responding to SAP nonconformance notifications and compiling all foundry notifications in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include compiling, collecting, organizing, and retrieving check sheet packets for the foundry. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Conduct sand hardness, tensile, LOI, and GFN tests and manages document control for tests. 2. Compiles and manages logistics, organization, storage and retrieval of completed foundry check sheet documents. 3. Inspects cleaned castings using LPI and UT methods. 4. Inspects foundry molds and foundry cores at various stages of completion, including all closed molds, to ensure conformity of foundry standards and procedures. 5. Inspects incoming purchased cores to ensure conformity of foundry standards. 6. Creates, manages, and compiles SAP nonconformance notifications. 7. Reads and understands foundry work instructions. 8. Understands and can document the foundry molding process. 9. Adheres to all company policies. 10. Other duties required from management. 11. Lift up to 50 pounds. 12. Assists in calibrating foundry blenders for sand, resin, and catalyst. 13. Creates weekly nonconformance report. 14. Ability to learn and operate foundry equipment. Education and Experience: --- Level 1 or higher LPI certification is a plus --- Level 1 or higher UT certification is a plus --- High School Diploma --- 2+ years of experience in foundry molding --- SAP experience preferred --- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a plus GIW Industries, Inc.
