Job Description:
StandardAero is one of the largest independent maintenance,
repair, and overhaul providers in the aerospace industry. At our
plants, our units engage in a variety of work scopes involving
trouble-shooting, problem solving, and working together to embody
our priority, which is ensuring the safety of our people and our
product. About the role: This position is responsible for
performing routine maintenance, and major inspections on turbofan
and turboprop powered aircraft. Trouble-shooting, repair, and
modification of aircraft components and engines is accomplished by
this position. The responsibilities of the role include: - Performs
operation checks and engine runs to ensure air-worthiness prior to
departure. - Inspects aircraft in accordance with OEM Light or
Heavy Maintenance manuals. - Evaluates removed components for
serviceability and document discrepancies (squawks). - Troubleshoot
and repair all airframe systems as required (hydraulics, landing
gear, etc). - Removes, balances and reinstalls flight controls. -
Inspects for hidden damage and corrosion. - Performs mechanical
checks of flight controls and a/c systems. - Documents all work
accomplished (a.k.a. sign-off) in a clear, concise and accurate
manner. - Accomplishes Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and
Airworthiness Directives as required. - Reads and interprets
maintenance manual procedures, blueprints, technical manuals, and
schematic diagrams when required. - Analyzes a variety of
mechanical problems and determines the cause and best method of
repair. - Tests operation and repairs/adjusts, as required:
engines, engine controls and accessories, propellers and controls,
landing gear, hydraulic systems and servicing, and flight controls,
and adjusts rigging as required. - Checks and repairs fuel, oil,
oxygen, heating, cooling and pressurization systems. - Uses hand
tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges and calibration test
equipment. - Observes all safety, environmental and general
housekeeping rules and policies. - May perform other duties as
required by the department. The requirements for an ideal candidate
include: - Valid FAA Airframe License with 2+ years experience
working on aircraft; or Non-Licensed with 4+ years military
experience working on aircraft (must be able to obtain Airframe
License within 12 months of hire). - Strong communication skills,
both verbal and written. - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
unassisted; stand a minimum of 8 hours per day and walk long
distances; bend, stretch, crawl, and climb ladders in order to work
on areas within the aircraft that are difficult to access.
Education Requirements: - Mechanical and/or aviation
experience/aptitude preferred - High School Diploma or Equivalent
