Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Augusta, Georgia, 30901! Job
Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive
Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per
Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year;
first-time travelers accepted License: GA or Compact license
required at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
required Must-Have: - Experience with mixed medical/surgical and
telemetry patients - Ability to manage high patient ratios -
Experience with titrating cardiac drips Description: The
Progressive Care Unit cares for a diverse patient population,
including adolescents and geriatrics. The unit has a mixed
population, including medical/surgical, respiratory, and cardiac
patients. Staff members manage both intermediate care and telemetry
cases. Nursing assignments may involve a combination of progressive
care and medical/surgical responsibilities based on patient acuity
and staffing needs. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4-5.
Floating may be required within the facility. Travelers are
expected to work major holidays as needed, specifically during
holiday periods. Full compliance is required to start on time. No
additional requests for time off during the holidays will be
accepted. Travelers should be flexible regarding their schedule and
unit assignments. Candidates must have strong communication skills
and be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Key skills
include managing various medical procedures and monitoring patient
telemetry. Nursing documentation and electronic health record
management experience is necessary. The role requires involvement
with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
All applicants must provide supervisory references. Priority will
be given to candidates with experience in high-acuity settings. 5
